On January 16, 2006, my life changed forever. I lost my best friend, my
soul mate, my lover, my husband, my Randy. This is a tribute to a dear sweet man, the
father of my children, the love of my life. On the
following pages, I share photos, music and thoughts, in the hopes that you too, will
understand just a little more about the man behind "A Truckers Wife".
I invite you to see what a wonderful man he was and how much he meant to us in the
time we shared together.
Farewell my love, until we meet again, you will remain
in my heart, for always. |

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden
passing of Randy, aged 43, on January 16, 2006. He will be deeply missed and
lovingly remembered by his wife Kelly and their three children, who meant
the world to him; Thomas Franklin, Amanda Jean and Samuel James. He was
predeceased by his father John (Jack) (1998) and his mother Marjorie (2001).
His memory will be cherished by sister Donna (George) Reimer and their
children Sharlee (Jeremy) and Vincent; and brother Jim (Elaine) and their
children Jonathan, Matthew and Benjamin of Calgary; grandmother Ellen
Langthorne; father and mother in law, Robert and Beverley Zarowny and sister
in law Cheryl (Thane) Stark and their children Samantha, Amber and Lance.
His pets Jake, Fred, Petunia and Skipper will miss him also.
Randy was born and raised in Winnipeg (North Kildonan). He and Kelly were
married on May 19, 1990 and together they made their home in Elmwood raising
and enjoying their young and growing family. From school activities to
swimming and gymnastics, Randy was always such an important part of their
young lives. He was so proud of his children and they will truly miss their
Daddy.
Randy was always there if you needed anything. He had a heart of gold and
you always knew where you stood with him. He would fight with every ounce of
his being for the things that he truly believed in. He had a great sense of
humor and you would never forget him once you met him. He will be missed by
all who had the pleasure of knowing him in his all too short life.
Randy was a professional driver currently employed with Timmer
Trucking/Arnold Bros. He loved the open road, but couldn’t wait to get home
to his family. Trucking was his passion after several years of employment
with the Wpg. School Div. #1. He started out on his final journey on Monday
night when his life suddenly ended and his heavenly highway began. Keep on
truckin’ Randy.
Our thanks to the Rosser Fire Dept., Paramedics and Seven Oaks Hospital
staff who so valiantly tried to save his life.
Should anyone wish, a donation in Randy’s memory can be made to the Thomas,
Amanda and Samuel Livingstone Trust at any
Crosstown Credit Union, for his
children or to a charity of ones choice.
To those whose lives he touched his memory will always remain.
Rest in peace until we meet again.

Randy was an inspiration to
me, his philosophies were simple, and profound.
I hear his voice in my head... When your number is up, it's up, so live
today...
Fight for what's right... and my most favorite of all... Shit happens!
He had a wonderful sense of humour, and was a man that you never forgot
because of it.
He loved to complain, but made it funny, and for that I thank him.
I will have memories upon memories of laughter and smarty pants comments to
look back on to make me smile.
He was a good man, with a giant size heart and a love for his children that
I cannot even begin to explain.
Everything he did was for us.
From buying our home, to being away with work, so that his children could
have their mother at home.
He gave us so much and asked for so little.
His life was cut short, for reasons I may never understand,
but that I
accept, because that was what we believed.
Things happen for a reason he would say, and it'll all work out in the end.
I find that very hard to believe now, but in time, I may come to understand.
I have faith in that, because Randy did.
He was my strength and my rock, and will continue to be so in my heart and
in my soul.
Never deny the opportunity to tell someone you love them,
to tell them how much they mean to you or
how much you appreciate them.
Randy and I did this, and now it gives me peace.
He knew we loved him, we told him every day, and he told us many times over.
To be loved is the greatest gift of all. |
I would like to Thank everyone who has touched our lives so
immensely since Randy passed away. Our family and friends have helped us through
this most difficult time more than they can ever imagine. The community spirit
where we live, has been absolutely amazing, and the help and support from our
neighbors has shown me what true community is all about. My children's school
staff and parents have been so very supportive and helpful, and for this I am so
grateful. My children will always be my main concern and knowing that they are
somewhere filled with such caring people, gives me peace of mind. Last, but
certainly not least, the online community here at ATruckersWife has been such a
great source of comfort and support. I do not know where I would be today
without all the cyber hugs, phone calls, cards and more that I have received
from all of them. My heart will ache, my eyes will cry,
but I know that I am never alone.
Thank you all again.
