The other Lady…
The sun is falling in the west… a breeze strolling down the road turning fallen
leaves up and whisking them along with it. The birds are chirping and I am
thinking what a wonderful evening to be out on the patio enjoying a cup of
coffee with the man I love. After all, I only see him two days every week.
His day off has been spent with the children in the yard, mowing and raking
between ball tossing and games of cops and robbers. Garth Brooks has been heard
by every neighbour and our 18 month old daughter can now yell bang and fall over
with as much grace as our collie dog and her older brothers combined.
But now I have finished off the dishes and the babies are in bed… So where has
my trucker gone? Surely after a week alone he is ready for some adult
conversation!
After searching the bedroom, the bathroom, the laundry room he is still missing.
With a heavy heart I acknowledge I have lost again. WHO ? Who can compete with
her?
Not I - I rummage through the drawers in my desk and grab the camera. If I am to
see him this evening I better join the ranks.
Stepping outside- there I find him. Chrome has a way of intoxicating a man.
Especially, a man with 18 wheels.
